Yokan

yokan
Yokan is a traditional Japanese sweet.
It is a sweet jellied red beans paste.
Usually it is made of red beans, agar-agar, and sugar.
Usually it is sold in block form, so we slice it and serve.
I like have it with green tea,

My family likes yokan too, we slice it real thin and have it with tea as well. I think that's the best way to enjoy it.

I don't think I've ever tried Yokan, but in Okayama we had a similar sweet made of beans. Oishi!

I have never tried Yokan yet, I will look for it next time I am at the Nippon Shop. I recently discovered this shop and the manager was speaking Japanese to me the whole time because I said "Konnichi wa", he thought I am good at it :D Have a nice week Nobu!
